Add text in Premiere Pro
Type words on top of your video with the Type Tool. The words become their own graphic clip on the track above the shot.

Step by step
- Press T, or click the Type Tool in the Tools panel.
- Click in the Program Monitor where the words should go, and type.
- Press V for the Selection Tool. Your text is now a graphic clip on V2.
- Drag the end of the graphic clip so it is the same length as the shot under it.
